Siouxsie Sioux (/suzi su/; born Susan Janet Ballion on May 27, 1957) is an English singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the 1970s. She is most known for her work as the main vocalist of the rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees (1976–1996) and its side project The Creatures (1981–2005), both of which were active from 1976 to 199With 11 studio albums under their belt, Siouxsie and the Banshees scored numerous UK Top 20 singles, including “Hong Kong Garden”, “Happy House,” and “Peek-a-Boo,” as well as a Billboard Top 25 success with the song “Kiss Them for Me.”
Siouxsie and the Creatures released four studio albums including the smash song “Right Now” during their time together. She has also collaborated with musicians such as Morrissey and John Cale on songwriting. She started a solo career in the mid-2000s and published her first album, Mantaray, in 200Singing sensation Siouxsie was hailed as “one of the most important British vocalists of the rock and roll era” by Allmusic. The likes of Jeff Buckley, Tricky, Massive Attack, and LCD Soundsystem have all performed her songs live.
Artists such as PJ Harvey and TV on the Radio have also complimented her work on their own albums. In 2011, she won the Q Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music, and in 2012, she received the Inspiration Award at the Ivor Novello Awards, which are held every year in London.
