SHANE Warne has sold his sprawling Brighton mansion for about $20 million — just a year and a half after the legendary cricketer paid $14.25 million to buy it back.
The Herald Sun understands expats returning to Melbourne bought the lavish Melville at 32 Middle Cres in a secretive off-market deal.
JP Dixon managing director Jonathan Dixon confirmed the mega-sale, but said he could not reveal any further details.
It was the second time Warne had sold the 1880 bluestone mansion on a substantial 3014sq m block.

Warne and his ex-wife Simone Callahan initially owned the luxury property from 2001 to 2007, with CoreLogic records indicating they bought it for $3.51 million and sold it for $8.75 million.
The pad changed hands again in 2009 for $10.1 million.
The Herald Sun then revealed in August 2016 that the spin king had purchased the six-bedroom estate again, paying $14,249,999 for it.
Warne bought back the mansion — complete with a pool baring his cricket jersey number 23 and a mod-grass tennis court — because it was always “his favourite house” and he planned to spend more time in Melbourne after moving between the city and the UK for several years.
It’s not known why Warne has offloaded the mansion this time around, or where he’ll be moving on to.
The Channel 9 cricket commentator “tidied up” the property before selling it for a multimillion-dollar profit.
A savvy property investor, Warne has bought, renovated and sold at least five Brighton residences over the past two decades.
He sold French-inspired mansion Camden at 11 Kinane St for $5.35 million in September 2016 after “putting his own touches” on the home.

Mr Dixon brokered that sale, and most of Warne’s other real estate deals in Brighton — and the prominent bayside agent said he would “sort him out again”.
It’s believed Mr Dixon has inked several off-market eight-figure deals in the desirable suburb this year already.
“I expect the top end to keep going up,” he said.
